Standing Firm on the Promises of God: Week 3

September 16, 2018 | Kyle Brenon | James 4:6-10

This week we look at James 4:6-10 where God’s word promises us that when we humble ourselves before gracious and loving God, good things happen! How often do we hesitate to come before the Lord because we feel guilty or ashamed? How often does our own pride prevent us from seeking much needed rest from the God of forgiveness and grace?

Scripture tells that “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble,” and when we humble ourselves before Him, He will lift us up. This may seem counter intuitive but when we truly let God take over, He will move in ways we could never imagine.
