Join us as we continue in our seven-week series on the final seven sayings of Jesus. This week we look at the implications of this powerful promise to the repentant sinner. What tremendous hope this should give us as we think about God’s amazing grace!

Discuss:
1. At the cross of Jesus Christ, we encounter two very different criminals, don’t we? Compare and contrast each of the criminals and how they represent people today regarding Jesus.
2. What do you think was drawing the repentant thief to Jesus?
3. What do you think of the phrase, “You can’t be saved if you don’t think you have anything to be saved from,” as it applies in this account of the two thieves in between Jesus?
4. Do you find yourself thinking about the cross of Jesus more than Good Friday?
Is it important to keep a balance between constantly remembering the work of the cross and the forgiveness that flows from the cross?
How do we do that?

How do we approach a world today that has turned sin in many ways upside down on its head?
